Netflix Customer Service Comes to Oregon

As an Oregon resident, I was very excited to hear that Netflix was opening up a customer service division in Oregon.  I am hoping that this will increase the speed of turn around on my Netflix.com DVD movie rentals . I am not saying that Netflix shipping time is bad now.  I get most of my Netflix DVD movie rentals within a week. Netflix says it chose Oregon for expansion because of the high quality of customer service representatives in the Portland area.  I don't know how true that is.  I do know that labor costs in Oregon are less than other parts of the country. "Plus, the folks in Oregon and Netflix share many values of honesty, candor and an appreciation for creativity and innovation," says Netflix Chief Talent Officer Patty McCord.  Thanks for the complement Patty.

Netlifx New DVD Rental Commerical Review

I like to listen to Yahoo! Launch.  In between music videos, I see a lot of these new Netflix movie DVD rental promotion commercials.  I don't care for this new Netflix promotional campaign. The new Netflix DVD movie promotion seems very childish to me. "The new creative refreshes the national campaign that brings to life both the Netflix service and the enjoyment of movies," said Neve Savage, vice president of marketing for Netflix. Well, Neve if your Netflix promotion marketing goal was to have those dumb character voices repeating over and over again in my head, your Netflix promotional campaign worked.  I do understand that repetitiveness is necessary to get a promotional advertising message to potential new Netflix DVD movie rental customers. Neve, next time please choose less annoying voices and characters.  The actors and actresses sound like the ones you see and hear on car dealership TV commercials.  There is nothing funny about these new Netflix DVD movie rental promotional commercials.  The new Netflix promotional campaign doesn't motivate me to subscribe to the Netflix DVD movie rental service .  They don't motivate me to refer a friend to the Netflix DVD rental service .  They don't motivate me to rent movies online from Netflix. In fact, the new Netflix TV commercials insult my intelligence. Netflix, save the silly stuff for the kids.  Netflix, market to me like I am an adult.

As a Mother of three children, I am very excited about this Netflicks feature. Netflicks created Profiles which allows Netflcks members to create separate movie queues for individual family members using a single account. With Netflicks Profiles, individual family members have the flexibility to select, rent and watch the movies they want, when they want. Parents can use Netflicks Profiles to control their children's queues by setting limits on the MPAA rating of movies that their children can browse and add to their individual queues.  My boys are always asking me to add Netflicks movies to the rental list. Netflicks understands the features families want and actually implement them into the Netflicks system.

Blockbuster Under Estimates Netflix

Netflix has really got Blockbusters attention.  Blockbuster is trying to put Netflix out of business, but Netflix is not going anywhere but up.  Blockbuster is killing the video store by offering a lower online pricing than the store-based subscription.  Blockbuster is just forcing all of those video store clients to rent DVD's online.  Some of those former Blockbuster video store customers will become new Netflix customers.  Netflix is the innovator of online DVD rentals.  Not only has Netflix innovated the online DVD rental business, they have mastered it.  Netflix has always been a step ahead of the big media guys.  When Blockbuster entered the online DVD rental business, they priced their service pennies below Netflix, but even that was not enough to lure customers away from Netflix.  Blockbuster should have listened to their customers when they had them.  Netflix has always listen to thier customers.

Customers Choose Netflicks Movie Rentals

Netflicks has forced Blockbuster to change the way Blockbuster does business.  Only Netflicks could get Blockbuster to hear the cries of the customer.  But, I predict it is to late, now Blockbuster will be crying.  Blockbuster made millions on late fees and now plan to end late fees next year.  Thank you Netflicks for listening to the customer and not your profits.  Even with Blockbuster ending late fees in 2005, Netflicks is still a better bargain.  I am on the 5 at a time Netflicks DVD movie rental program for only $29.99 per month.  I watch 10-15 top Netflicks DVD movies a month.  If you compare the price of Blockbuster new release, you should be paying between $39.99 and $59.85 a month to rent 10-15 movies.  I pay only $29.99 to Netflicks.  That is a savings between $10.00 and $29.86 a month by using the Netflicks online DVD movie rental service vs renting from Blockbuster.  The best part is I am continuing to support a business model that puts me first!  When I hear that Blockbuster predicts that it will loose $300 million in revenue from late fees in 2005, all I can think about is how much they have made off me in past years.  Netflicks, from day one offered the better online DVD movie rental service, at a better price.  Blockbuster keep crying, because this Netflicks customer is never coming back!

Rent More Movies From Netflix.com

I found some facts on the Netflix.com regarding Netflix.com customer satisfaction. Netflix.com members say they rent twice as many movies per month than they did prior to joining the service. Netflix.com must be more convenient then driving to a DVD rental store or Netflix.com customers would not be doing this. I think that statistic is interesting because I often hear that the reason people have not tried the Netflix.com service is because they think they will not have as many DVD movies, or get those movies fast enough.
